How to Vote

Four ways to cast your ballot.

Pick whatever's easiest. Every active LA voter gets a ballot mailed automatically — you don't have to choose ahead of time.

Option 1

Vote by Mail

Ballots begin mailing May 4, 2026.

Every active California voter automatically gets a ballot in the mail — no request needed. Fill it out, sign the envelope, and either mail it back (postage prepaid) or drop it in any official drop box.

Make sure your address is current

Option 2

Ballot Drop Boxes

Open starting May 5, 2026 across LA County.

Hundreds of secure, official drop boxes are placed across LA County — open 24/7 at many locations. Drop your sealed, signed ballot in any one of them. Fastest, no postage.
