Pick whatever's easiest. Every active LA voter gets a ballot mailed automatically — you don't have to choose ahead of time.
Option 1
Vote by Mail
Ballots begin mailing May 4, 2026.
Every active California voter automatically gets a ballot in the mail — no request needed. Fill it out, sign the envelope, and either mail it back (postage prepaid) or drop it in any official drop box.
Hundreds of secure, official drop boxes are placed across LA County — open 24/7 at many locations. Drop your sealed, signed ballot in any one of them. Fastest, no postage.
Prefer to vote in person? Any registered LA County voter can use any vote center in the county. No appointment. Bring your mail ballot and they'll process it, or vote a fresh ballot there.
Polls (vote centers) are open from 7 AM to 8 PM. If you're in line by 8 PM, you have the right to vote. Same-day registration is available at any vote center if you missed the deadline.
